The Spring/Summer edition of the CCVS newsletter, "For the Record", is now available. CCVS students will be attending the Chartered Shorthand Reporters' Association of Ontario conference at Ryerson University. On March 29th, 2011 in Toronto, CCVS hosted an Open House which featured demonstrations by recent graduates and current students. The event was well attended by prospective students interested in the National and Local program formats. On November 9, 2010, guest speaker Lieutenant Commander Tim O'Leary talked with CCVS students about current world conflicts, geo-politics, and the complexities of war. He reminded students that, to date, 152 Canadian soldiers have fallen in Afghanistan. On this Remembrance Day, Lest We Forget. CCVS was proud to honour its first graduating class last night in the main boardroom of the ASAP Reporting Services office in the Bay Adelaide Centre. Over 40 people were in attendance. Look for more on the graduation ceremony to be posted on the LMS coming up! CCVS Students went to the courthouse at 361 University Ave. on Wednesday, October 6th for a Q&A session. They met with a judge and crown attorney as well as a realtime court reporter. Students can view the court reporter's tips in the student lounge of the LMS.
